The following comment was posted on a Bebo group that promotes the International Eucharistic Congress 2012. It was posted by a young person. Organisers listen up, this what the youth want!
“Hey could i pass a message on to the organisers?? Could we please not do a typical post Vatican II and have a really ultra modern Eucharistic Congress?? Can we please follow the example of the Holy Father and use the old methods and the old materials and show the mystery that is the Eucharist!! We have lost so much!! We constantly try to modernise things to make them appeal to youth and the modern world and it only drives them away futher because we can not explain completely the Holy Mass or the Eucharist so we must express the mystery and awe and wonder and show the importance of what is in the Tabernacle or Monstance or on the Altar at the Consecration!! Thank you!!”
This is the voice of the future of the Church, time to start listening!
